AHRC NYC is currently seeking for IMMEDIATE HIRE! Full Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for the 3pm-11pm EVENING SHIFT in our Group Homes throughout ALL FIVE BOROUGHS!.
The pay rate for this position is between $18-$20per hour depending on driving status, and residence placement.
In addition, this position comes with a very generous benefits package including:
FULL MEDICAL BENEFITS PAID BY EMPLOYER, dental, and vision plans, generous paid time off, 403B retirement plan with employer match, tuition reimbursement and more.
Schedules generally include working weekends, with two (2) consecutive days off will be during the week.
Are you a Quality DSP candidate?If so, you are patient, compassionate, creative, and team-oriented.
You will support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community participation, advocacy, and building meaningful relationships.
You must be able and willing to teach, provide counseling, and problem solve, while fostering a nurturing, personalized home environment.
Additional Responsibilities The oversight of all safety and health considerations Promoting skill development, interests, and hobbies Assisting with Adult Daily Living skills (ADLs) Other personalized responsibilities including cooking, cleaning, hygiene, etc.
Required Qualifications High school education/GED or equivalent required Professionalism; integrity; excellent communication skills.
Patience is a MUST! Valid NYS Driver's License Required for most evening shifts.
Experience supporting People with Intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) preferred.
Willingness to support people's preferences for community, activities, work, leisure activities, the exercise of their rights etc.
in various settings.
Ability to stay alert and awake at all times; use a computer for data entry; schedule flexibility.
