Secretary and/or Legal Secretary Paralegal

Accepting applications for both a full time Secretary/Receptionist and/or part-time legal secretary/paralegal in a small general practice law firm located in Staten Island, New York.
Practice areas are primarily Personal Injury, Workers' Compensation, Wills and Estates; Family/Matrimonial Law, and Real Estate.
Approximately 35-40 hours per week (full time); 24 hours per week (part time).
Requirements for Secretary/Receptionist:
Applicants must have a high school diploma or general education degree AND a minimum of 1
years of experience as a secretary/Receptionist OR 1
years of work experience in a law firm.
Proficiency in typing and with MS Office Suite, including Microsoft Word and Outlook are a must.
Requirements for Legal secretary/paralegal:
Applicants must have a high school diploma or general education degree AND a minimum of 2
years of experience as a legal secretary or paralegal OR 2
years of work experience in a law firm.
Proficiency in typing and with MS Office Suite, including Microsoft Word and Outlook are a must.
Qualified applicants must be able to work independently, be organized, efficient, and detail-oriented.
Applicants must also demonstrate a professional demeanor and be able to multitask.
Responsibilities will include:
Promptly and professionally answering and directing incoming calls; communicating with clients, court officials, and other attorneys; obtaining medical records; preparing correspondences; providing attorney support, preparing pleadings and discovery responses; drafting letters, scanning, filing, and billing.
