We are seeking a Junior Desktop Support Engineer for the Staten Island location for a cutting-edge tech-focused company that will expose you to a diverse technical environment and support your technical and professional growth. The Junior Desktop Support Engineer is primarily responsible for the support, administration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, software, and associated peripherals. Duties of this position include the installation, configuration, and support of operating systems and applications; participation in remote site administration; and production support activities. Highly motivated individual will work with latest technologies in this arena
Configure new computer hardware and software (mostly Windows based).
Perform upgrades and configuration of desktop and related peripherals
Troubleshoot desktop issues
Take service calls and either resolve them or pass them on appropriately
Utilize Service Desk system to maintain records of requests and responses for support issues
Hardware/Software installs and upgrades
Assist in the administration of a Windows environment
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:Competency in installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware and software on PCs and related equipment
1-2 years - Windows Desktop Operating Systems
1 years - Enterprise Antivirus Software
1 years - Directory Services (Microsoft)
Printer Administration
Excellent people skills (you need to really have excellent people skills as you will be representing the company)
Ability to concisely describe or summarize a problem and steps taken to diagnose and resolve it, in writing
Ability to deal with a diverse population, including strong accents
Willingness and ability to learn new skills and use new types of information
Responsibility and reliability
Ability to prioritize and perform triage
Discretion and good sense in dealing with clients
Willingness to see a problem through to its resolution
Full Time position plus benefits (insurance, vacation, etc.)Salary: $45-55K per year depending on years of experience and expertise
Required experience:
Windows and Microsoft experience: 1-2 years

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
