Asst.Vice President-Women's & Children Services & Nursing Education

Richmond University Medical Center is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Women & Children's Services. Working with engaged physicians and an organization supportive of a dynamic plan for growth, expansion and advancement, the AVP will support Baby Friendly certification, Joint Commission Perinatal certification and efforts with long-range planning.
The AVP of Women and Children's Services will be responsible for, and have the opportunity to help us grow the Nursing Education program as well as the following units:
Labor and Delivery: An inpatient unit welcoming 3,000 deliveries per year and consisting of 9 Labor-Delivery-Recovery suites, 5 Antepartum suites, 2 Operating suites, a 5 bed recovery room and a triage area.
Neonatal ICU: A 25 bed Level III nursery providing care to ill neonates within a strong family centered care model. Family involvement is key.
Mother/Baby Unit: Nursing staff on the 36 bed Mother Baby Unit provide individualized care to postpartum women and newborns within the context of family and relationship centered care.
Pediatrics: A 26 bed inpatient unit with a 3 Bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit providing care to children ranging in age from 1 day to 18 years of age for a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses.
As a member of the nursing leadership team the AVP participates in strategic planning, execution, change management, and organizational decision-making. Supports the development and implementation of nursing's mission, vision, values and strategic, short and long-term goals and objectives, standards of care and operating plans for the assigned clinical department or service line.
Collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary leadership team and unit staff in the development and implementation of operating and capital budgets.
Develops, implements, and manages ongoing measurement, action planning, and evaluation methods related to all dimensions of performance inclusive of budget, productivity, associate engagement, patient satisfaction, physician satisfaction, and clinical outcome targets for the areas of responsibility.
Develops and implements plans, including education and required competencies that ensure staffing for safe high quality patient care. Collaborates with educators and managers to ensure appropriate orientation competency standards, guidelines, and protocols related to life support, clinical practice and ongoing staff development processes.
Facilitate educational experiences for professional nursing students and provides placement support between nursing schools and unit of placement through contractual agreement endorsed by RUMC
Ensures the recruitment, retention, development, succession planning for and engagement of quality staff within the assigned clinical departments or service lines. Promotes an environment of shared leadership and decision-making in a unionized environment.
Facilitates, develops, and directs the implementation of effective evidence-based programs and multi-level projects to measure, analyze and continuously improve the safety and quality of patient care in the assigned clinical department or service line demonstrated through empirical outcomes.
Communicates and collaborates on a regular basis with nursing leaders and associates, the medical staff, and other identified stakeholders achievements about concerns related to patient safety, quality, patient loyalty, patient satisfaction, staff engagement and physician satisfaction.
Required
Experience: A minimum of ten years of acute care nursing experience. At least five years in a leadership position. Leadership skills required.
Certification: Current registration as registered nurse in NY State required. Specialty certification preferred.
Education Requirements: Master's degree required

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
