Maintenance Mechanic, WG-4749-10

The purpose of this position is to perform preventive and corrective maintenance and completing job orders utilizing the basic building/construction trades (electrical, plumbing, and HVAC).Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.Typical work assignments include:
Electrical:
Installing, modifying, repairing, trouble shooting (tracing and locating defects), loading and testing new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, electrical wiring, controls and equipment.Plumbing:
Installing, modifying and repairing new and existing utility supply and disposal systems and equipment such as sewage, water, oil and underground water distribution mains and systems, water closets, tubs, fire sprinkler systems, and sewage disposal stations.HVAC:
Repairing heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems in residential and commercial units, small and domestic heating units and systems, hot air furnaces, low-pressure hot water and stead boilers, refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation systems, controls and circulators.Equipment Operations:
Operating miscellaneous snow equipment (plow and snow blowers) and performing portable and fixed generator operations. Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to perform the duties of the position rather than the length of experience. Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope, and quality of all experience and training, regardless of where or how acquired. Applicants will be rated and ranked based on their knowledge of the following job elements:
Ability to perform the work of the position without more than normal supervision (SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT) Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc Technical practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments Ability to interpret instructions, specification, etc. (includes blueprinting reading) Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment. Knowledge of MaterialsNational Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
