The purpose of this role is to serve as the principal administrative support for the Chief, Administration and Personnel Division Officer. You will issue identification (ID) cards, support the Administration Personnel Division and perform mailroom functions.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.Typical work assignments include:
- Administering identification cards and overseeing the use and maintenance of the ID Card Office and equipment.- Serving as liaison between the Servicing Personnel Office (SPO) on administrative matters.- Screening calls, greeting visitors and ensuring all visitors are authorized.- Providing orientation and guidance to newly assigned members.- Receiving, screening and securing all incoming and outgoing mail. - Utilizing various forms of office automation and preparing awards and certificates. Qualifications for GS-07:
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 level is required. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Some examples include:
Entering and maintaining data in a database; preparing correspondence utilizing a variety of office software such as word processing, graphic, and data collection software, and spreadsheets; planning and coordinating meetings and visits; greeting visitors and telephone callers, and providing information.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
