Administrative Support Assistant

Answers phones and greets visitors, provides general information and directs visitors Receives and distributes incoming mail and prepares outgoings mail Maintains central filing system Coordinates the Division's budget and finance functions Serves as a travel coordinator, prepares travel documents including authorizations and vouchers. Provides technical assistance to travelers, reviews and audits travel, tracks outstanding authorizations and ensures completion of travel vouchers Prepares payroll and serves as timekeeper and is responsible for input into the computer all time/attendance reports for employees. Answers employee questions concerning pay, hours of duty, and leave. Performs leave audits for incorrect annual and sick leave balances Serves as property clerk and maintains park's property inventory records ensuring all property is numbered and accounted for. Assists with disposal of excess property and assists supervisor in annual inventory of property. Reviews and conducts micropurchasing. Promptly submits payments on all invoices. Employee must be able to obtain a government credit card and purchase authority. Performs and oversees supply functions including receiving incoming supplies, materials and equipment, checking items against acquisition documents and resolved discrepancies. Uses computers and appropriate software for data collection analysis, and collating. Prepares reports, forms, and tabular material. Types in final form from field notes, or drafts, correspondence, including letters, memoranda, and reports. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. SELECTIVE FACTOR:
This position performs work that requires the ability to consistently and accurately type at least 40 words per minute. Applicants may meet this requirement by providing a certificate of proficiency or by self-certifying their proficiency in the application package. At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as:
maintaining a filing system both electronic and hard copy; experience preparing employment actions, documents, and time and attendance; experience with administrative processes and procedures involved in travel authorizations and vouchers; managing databases/systems and preparing reports; and experience with commonly used word processing software and computers to develop correspondence, memos, forms and other standardized documents. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least 4 years above high school. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. You must include transcripts. -OR- Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. You must include transcripts. Volunteer

One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
