As a Supervisory Park Ranger, you will be responsible for:
Developing policies, implementing procedures, and evaluating the education, interpretation, and personal and non-personal interpretation and education services in the Park; Overseeing the coordination and delivery of the Park's curriculum-based education programs, including new initiatives such as Park for Every Classroom, citizen science programming, the Teacher-Ranger-Teacher program, service learning, internships, and partner provided programs; Setting long- and short-range goals for these programs, including identifying resource needs and developing program standards; Collecting and analyzing a variety of data to recommend changes to interpretive programs and prepare the calendar of education and ranger-guided offerings; Monitoring the annual operating budget for the program; and Supervising, through subordinate supervisors in some instances, staff involved in the development and delivery of educational and interpretive programming Primary work location is at Park Headquarters in Fort Wadsworth, Staten Island, with responsibilities for oversight and management of the park's visitor centers and interpretive services conducted throughout the park in Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and Sandy Hook. Work is primarily sedentary office work, with periods outdoors for interpretive tours, escorting visitors and officials around the park, overseeing staff and presenting programs. Occasional physical demands require the ability to hike trails and negotiate local terrain. Tolerance for high heat and humidity during summer months and cold during the winter is required. Duties and responsibilities sometimes require long workdays and travel by all modes of transportation including boats. The duties of the position require mental stamina and considerable physical exertion during peak visitation periods and emergencies. In order to be qualified for this position, you must possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, developing interpretive and educational programming for various audiences; fostering cooperative relationships with external stakeholder groups to complete collaborative projects; providing guidance to others on interpretive techniques, technologies, or program requirements; and identifying resource needs (e.g. materials, personnel, finances, etc.) for an interpretive program. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
