This role serves as the Senior Intelligence Operations Specialist. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:
- Planning, collecting and analyzing highly specialized, particularly sensitive intelligence information from multiple and often highly complex sources.- Identifying gaps in existing information and requesting research of reports necessary to strengthen intelligence.- Providing and interpreting information pertaining to the most complex or strategically important intelligence dissemination operations.- Collects, analyzes, and evaluates the significance of, large volumes of intelligence materials of a highly specialized, particularly sensitive nature, relative to their importance and impact.- Preparing expert level analyses that identify, interpret and explain pertinent issues and developments to the formulation and execution of actions or policy. Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of Specialized Experience includes collecting and analyzing intelligence operations programs; analyzing, evaluating and integrating data from multiple sources to assess the relevance; directing and assigning projects; experience performing analysis and production tasks relative to broad fields of research or operation for major geographical areas. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
